This book is the first in a new series by Ken Ham -- The Green Notebook Series. Master Books, part of the New Leaf Publishing Group, is behind this -- so I knew I would love it, as I have loved everything of theirs that I have seen. I so appreciate having the chance to use high quality books from a creationist world view.
This book did not disappoint. Sturdy, with an engaging story and fabulous pictures, it is also filled with fun extras. Well, let's let Richard and Trina give you a bit of a book tour (with some help from Thomas too):
Stuff to lift
Little books within the book, like this...
... or this...
...or this...
...or this one, on a fold-out page.
Colorful pictures
And even a note to pull out.
Doesn't that look fun? Do you want a copy? I get to give away... not one, not two, not even three... but FOUR of these books to four of my lucky readers. It would make a fabulous gift, or a great addition to a church library, so even if you don't have kids near the 4-8 age range, you really ought to enter.
First, some ground rules. I'll need a US address only. Sorry, not my rule. One comment = one entry in the drawing. I will use random.org to choose the winners, and although you can get multiple entries, you can only win once. So if I choose someone more than once, I will draw a new winner.
I'm giving you lots of ways to enter. Pick one, pick two, pick 'em all. Leave a separate comment for each entry:
- Tell me how cute my kids are. That's definitely worth an entry. Or which photo you liked best. Or how big they look since last you saw them.
- Follow me using Google Friend Connect.
- Go visit New Leaf Publishing and tell me which book you'd most like to own, besides Charlie and Trike. Because I need to add to my wish list, LOL.
- Either tell me you are my friend on Facebook, or request me as a friend. (Hopefully the link works. If not, this entry will be more of an adventure than I thought.)
- Like Master Books on Facebook.
- Post about this contest (with a link) on your blog, Facebook, or Twitter (one entry for each place you post).
- Tell me about a trip you have taken to the Grand Canyon. Or tell me about something you would like to see there.
Oh, and I forgot... Charlie and Trike have their own website...
NOTE: I received a free copy of Charlie & Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure from New Leaf Publishing in exchange for sharing my honest opinion of it with my readers. I received Your Guide to the Grand Canyon, and was also compensated for participating in this blog tour, and I have a chance to win a family pack of tickets to the Creation Museum as well (though I won't be entering, as we would not be able to use them!)
Your kids are beyond cute. They look adorable smiling and laughing together like that.

ReplyDeleteJust one book? I guess I would pick "Party of Two" or the "Fruits of the Spirit" Series.

ReplyDeleteohmygoodness, Debra, your kids are *gorgeous*! They should model clothing or something. I was going to mention it to you on another board, and then *giggle* I saw your rules for entering the contest.

ReplyDeleteI have never been to the Grand Canyon, but would like to see any of it. (I did fly over it years ago.)
ReplyDeleteLove the recommendation for Big Thoughts... I don't have to put that on my wish list, as I already own it! Thanks, Jennifer, for letting me know I'm on Master Books FB page now. Or rather, my kiddos are. :)
ReplyDeleteYour kids ARE cute! I like the first picture where they are laughing.
ReplyDeleteI added you as a FB friend.
ReplyDeleteI posted a link on my FB page.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was living in New Mexico right after college, I drove over to see the Grand Canyon all by myself. It was AMAZING and I can't wait to take my family there one day!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted this site.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have the Answers curriculum.

I have been to the Grand Canyon twice. The first time, I was a little girl. The second time was in 2000 as a part of a family road trip across country. We hiked a very small portion of the Bright Angel Trail. It is so beautiful!

Your kids are adorable! Are all 5 red-heads? How sweet! We tried going to the Grand Canyon after Christmas, but there was a blizzard that day and the visibility wouldn't let us see anything. :( Maybe my daughter could get a better sense of it through this book...
ReplyDelete-Katie from Moving On group
P.S. I'll just friended you on FB (I thought I'd already done that a while back...)
Posting an entry for Katie for her Grand Canyon visit story. Grand Canyon in a blizzard, yikes!!!
ReplyDeletePosting an entry for Katie for friending me on FB. Glad to have you on there!! :)
ReplyDeletePick me! Your kids really are cute! (Almost as cute as mine :)
ReplyDeleteJust sent you a FB friend request (from Heidi T.)
ReplyDeleteJust "liked" Master Books on FB.
ReplyDeleteLots of good stuff on the New Leaf Publishing site. In addition to what everyone has already suggested, "Westley, the Big Truck" would definitely be a hit here with my little ones.
ReplyDeleteAnd, have just posted a link on my FB homepage.
ReplyDeleteHave never been to the Grand Canyon, but would love to go someday when my kids are a little bigger. I always thought the helicopter ride through and in the canyon sounded fun, but probably out of our price range... I would be happy to ride a donkey all the way down-- donkey rentals can't be too expensive, I hope! And just take in the majesty!
ReplyDeleteI'm already your friend on FB
ReplyDeleteYour children are adorable. It is hard to pick photos. I like the 3rd from the bottom best.
ReplyDeleteDebra - I became your friend on FB this morning
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I follow your blog--but I'm still figuring out this blogging stuff.
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics---BTW you still haven't sent me pics from your trip to visit me in DC ;-)
ReplyDeleteI would like a lot of the books on New Leaf Publishing. For my ds8 who loves to read, I would get him Jonathon Park and the Secret of the Hidden Cave. He loved all the Jonathon Park audiobooks. I would like to read the Shadowed Mind since I have recently read the Deadly Disclosures.
ReplyDeleteThe Grand Canyon is still on our list of National Parks to visit--I'd love to go as a family of 4, but who knows if that will happen :-/ Maybe it will just be an Alex and me trip :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I cannot believe how big Trina is -- somehow Lauren grew up, but Trina's still little in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI already follow you on Google Friend connect.
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which book to put on my wish list -- either "Dinosaurs, the Lost World, and You" or "Answers for Kids." Brennan would love both of them. He's a big creation scientist after listening to some Jonathan Park CDs.
ReplyDeleteI'm already your friend on FB.
ReplyDeleteI liked Master Books on FB.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever make it to the Grand Canyon, I just hope I can trust that Lauren won't fall somewhere and get hurt while I'm taking in the awesomeness of it all.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are adorable and they really look like they are enjoying the book.
ReplyDeleteI found out about your website from the Yahoo group - thank you!

Your children truly are adorable! As I was responding to your email, my daughter said, "All redheads! Aren't they cute!" (and she didn't even know that there was a book at stake) :)
ReplyDeleteBeth
I went to the Grand Canyon in college and would love to go back with my kids. I flew over it a few years ago and didn't have a window seat and the guy next to me at the window was looking at paperwork the whole time! I couldn't believe it. I strained myself over him the best I could to see out the window, without being too annoying!
ReplyDeleteEven if it were not a way to enter I would have to say those pictures are adorable! The only children more adorable would be my own LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are soo cute!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYou children are so very cute! I loved the photos of them snuggled up together on the quilt, laughing together happily while reading the book. I couldn't decide whether they were blond or strawberry blond but in any case they are very cute! :)
