Our sons' favorite parts of US history to study are the wars! Any and all of them! I think my favorite part (so far) is the Gilded Age, and learning about technology, music and art (and how they changed) during different time periods.

I like learning about the colonial times and westward expansion.

Kimberly, I had to laugh. My boys all tend to love the wars too.

Or the technology.

Wendi, I'm always a sucker for westward expansion time period. :)

Mmmm. For me, anything pre-cars and pre-tech, because no matter how much I enjoy our modern "conveniences", in my secret heart, I long for a simpler life.

I think my favorite time in history would be the late 1940's and 50's and early 60's. I always think there is something amazing happening as WWII ended and technology was making huge leaps and bounds while my parents were growing up. The American family for the most part was still intact. Most families still ate together, and were marveled by the phone, the stories on the radio, the car, the TV, and the space race to put a man on the moon. I think it was a very exciting time in history.
