It's been a decent week... until this morning. Things got pretty crazy. Sorry for being so late to post this!
Here is what we've been reading this week.
The Endless Steppe. Fabulous book. Highly recommend it. I raved about it last week, so I won't do that again. But we did finish up that last chapter.
Loved it.
Charlotte's Web. Finished this one. What a great story. Now to decide whether or not to let the kids watch one of the movie versions.
Golden Goblet. <clears throat> Yeah. I don't think we're even through the first chapter. Still. I have to get this going.
Number the Stars. I love this book. We're about halfway through it. This one is Connor's, but everyone is listening. But I can't seem to get a picture today.
Mara, Daughter of the Nile. I'm actually succeeding in reading this to just William and Thomas. I love this book too. We aren't very far into it, but this is such an amazing way to discuss women manipulating men and how you can't go bending over backwards every time a pretty girl bats her eyelashes.
Plans for this coming week? Continuing on. I'm debating another E. B. White book.
How did your week go? Sign the linky to link up your reading aloud post and I'll definitely come visit your post. Love having you here... you motivate me when I feel like NOT reading aloud.

I think I am FINALLY on a roll with our reading!! :D
I opted to save the other EB White books until Lauren is a bit older. I remember thinking that they were a bit longer (both the books and the chapters).
We enjoyed Number the Stars and Endless Steppe also. It would be interesting to be reading them around the same time. I've got to participate in this sometime soon. We are into some great read alouds right now, but lots of time reading means not a lot of time spent blogging. ;)

This is such a wonderful idea! We will have to start sharing what we're reading soon! What a wonderful way to learn from others about books too!
This is my first time linking up-- I have a 2.5 yo son and 1 yo daughter, but we do a lot of read alouds even if we aren't "officially" homeschooling yet. I can't wait until we can get into longer read alouds like Charlotte's Web and Narnia and Little House... I could go on and on and on. :) Found you through Serving @ Home.
He Debra. We were out of the house most of yesterday so I just go my post up. Happy reading!
This is my first time linking up. We don't have much fiction going right now, but we do plenty of reading aloud.
i finally made it! Sorry I'm a day late...

I think you had a pretty good week. And, I must admit, that I don't think we completed The Golden Goblet our last time through history. Either that one or another one about Ancient Egypt, I can't remember. We simply got bogged down just past the middle of the book and finally set it aside and moved on.
I've not heard of the Golden Goblet. It doesn't sound like you're liking it too well, but I'm going to check it out, just in case it would fill a gap for us.
Maureen -- The Golden Goblet is a GREAT book. Where we are struggling is that we read it not all that long ago... and the first chapter or two (well, probably all of them) are pretty long.
Kids determined that they remember the story and aren't that interested in going through it again right now. So we'll be shelving it.
My middle son is likely to do some type of ancient history course for high school, so I may include this book. And my youngest two will hit ancient history again in a few years, and I'll make a point of doing this book then.
GREAT book. Highly recommend.
Everyone else -- I'm going and hitting all your links today! It's been pretty insane in this household starting Friday morning.
