Scouting Saturday: Cooking

The third weekend of the month is traditionally when our Boy Scout troop has their outings, and this month was no exception.  Instead of camping, the boys got together to spend the day cooking.  All day.

We had to be out of the house around 8:30, as, for a change, the event was actually happening fairly close to us.  They ended well after dark, at 6:00.

I didn't get a lot of details, as the boys were exhausted... but apparently in between cooking lunch, dinner and a snack, and cleaning up once or twice, they also got in some horseback riding.

And while I was away, Thomas was making breakfast burritos under his father's supervision.

All in all, an excellent day... three boys training to take over the cooking.  Doesn't get much better than that!  One of the reasons I just love Scouts...

Debra,

There are SO many reasons to love Scouting, aren't there? Teaching boys how to cook, be helpful, be more independent, have good character, save someone's life in an emergency . . . so many reasons!
