Sometime this week, All About Spelling will be unveiling their new website, All About Reading. This looks so fabulous. I have to decide if I can rationalize purchasing items, but I know that I will be getting the newest All About Spelling Level.
Anyway, this review is impossibly hard to write. I already said it all in January.
What Am I? goes along with the first half of Level 2 of All About Spelling. The stories are longer, but otherwise everything I raved about in the first reader still holds true. Beautiful, hardbound book. Gorgeous pictures. Sweet stories.
You don't have to use All About Spelling to use these readers. But since I think All About Spelling is amazing, my kids will certainly use the readers alongside the spelling program.
The only negative... I wish it was the books to go with Level 3 that were just now coming out. Oh, and at $19.95, it is a fair amount of money if you have one child who "gets" reading pretty easily. For a struggling reader, it is worth every penny. And if you have a few who can use it, well, even better.
I want to purchase the next reader (supposedly both readers that go with Level 2 are coming out this week), even though I really don't have a child who needs it now. It will be good review, and it will be nice to use it with my little ones. Not sure that can happen though. Like I said, if they were only one level further on, it would then be a no-brainer.
And you can check out what my fellow crewmates have to say about What Am I? at:
Any questions? I'd love to know what you would want to know in deciding whether or not this is something you want to purchase.
Disclaimer: As part of the TOS Homeschool Review Crew, I did receive What Am I? book for free from All About Spelling. The fact that I received a complimentary product does not guarantee a favorable review. It does guarantee a review. A fair review. But I am not going to praise something unless I think it deserves the praise. If I don't like it, you'll hear that. And hopefully with enough detail as to why so you can decide for yourself if what I hate about it makes it perfect for your family. For more about my take on reviews, visit my blog post here.
