Support Your Local Library Reading Challenge

Okay, let's start posting the tracking pages for reading challenges again!!

So, I re-read the rules for the 2010 Support Your Local Library Reading Challenge hosted by J. Kaye's Book Blog, and I'm upping my planned commitment to this one.  It says any book counts... so that means that the books like Riddle of the Rosetta Stone that I'm reading to my kids (finished that yesterday, though we started it last week, so I won't be counting it!) for school should go on here too.

So I think I'm going all out, and planning for 100 books, the Super Size Me level.

Considering the mobile library supervisor tells me that she can tell when we don't show up at the bookmobile on Wednesday because her circulation numbers are down, and I even had library staff pop in to see me when I was in the hospital after delivering Trina... well, I think I'll make it.

Okay, my rules:  I am only counting books that are long enough to make it onto my sidebar as family read-alouds, or books I am reading.  Which means it has to be something I read over more than one day (or would under normal circumstances... listening to an entire audiobook in one day while driving to North Dakota... that still counts!)  The schoolbooks I tend to check out for Richard & Trina don't count.

So, here is my list.  Parenthetical means that I'm reading it now (and started it in 2010)

  1. Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis
  2. The Centurion's Wife by Davis Bunn and Janette Oke
  3. Inside the Revolution by Joel Rosenberg
  4. Adara by Beatrice Gormley
  5. Why Snails Have Shells by Carolyn Han
  6. Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis
  7. D'Aulaires' Greek Myths by Ingri and Edgar D'Aulaire
  8. City by David Macaulay
  9. Classic Myths to Read Aloud by William F. Russell
  10. Theras and His Town by Caroline Dale Snedeker
  11. The Wanderings of Odysseus by Rosemary Sutcliff
  12. (America -- the Last Best Hope,Volume II by William Bennett)
  13. (There is no Freedom Without Bread! by Constantine Pleshakov)

Thanks!! I picked up my books at the bookmobile this morning, so now I'm really set. Good thing I went early, as they don't plan to stay long with the weather.
