Reading Aloud Challenge: August 18

This week has been fairly pathetic.  A chapter here, a chapter there... but it didn't add up to much.

Here is what we've been reading this week.

Augustine Came to Kent
(Living History Library)Augustine Came to Kent.  This has been with just William and Thomas, and they beg for one more chapter -- even so, we didn't finish it yet this week.  What a great book.  It is nice to be back to doing our Illuminations books.

Still More Stories from
Grandma's Attic (Grandma's Attic Series)Still More Stories from Grandma's Attic.  This one I'm reading mostly to Richard and Trina.  I'll be reviewing it next week.  Was hoping to finish this up this week

Banner in the SkyBanner in the Sky.  This is Connor's.  We are nowhere near as far into this as I'd like.  <sigh>  Not even far enough for me to make a remotely intelligent comment about it.

Plans for this coming week?  Finishing up all of the above.  I have to.  Plus Angel on the Square (Connor) and who knows what else.  Except that I am planning to start Sonlight Core 1, so I think Charlotte's Web is first up there.

How did your week go?  Sign the linky to link up your reading aloud post and I'll definitely come visit your post.   Love having you here...

awesome Debra - I will join you now that school has started back! My goal for now is to just start a chapter a day unless the chapters are small.

I just wanted to say I never remember to post about the books we're reading on Thursdays but love reading what everyone is up to. We've been reading Little Men as a family, Famous Men of the Middle Ages as a family, just finished Leif the Lucky with the younger 5, and Makayla is on chapter 6 of The Vikings by Janeway. Oh, and I'm reading Mandsfield Park by Jane Austen just for me. I picked up a few books at the library today that I hope to do this week with the kids too, we'll see.

We read Capyboppy this week, since we are doing World Geog this year and are on South America

Just found this meme through the Crew. I am a day late, but better late than never!

I am 2 days late... so I beat Michelle. I planned to have this done on Thursday but just didn't get to it. We love Augustine Came to Kent. We finished reading one book on Monday and that was it... ds Christopher got sick and we didn't do school the rest of the week. Plans for next week include doing the school I planned for last week!!! at least I won't have to spend a lot of time planning today! :-)

Well, if we're supposed to post this on Thursdays than I am always going to be late :) I like scheduling mine for Saturdays. It's been a good week overall though we were not as consistent as I would like to be.

*I* am supposed to post on Thursday. The rest of you can post when you want... :)

It's just that if you post on Thursday, I'll visit you pretty quickly. If you post on Friday or Saturday, I probably won't visit until Sunday (maybe) or into the next week...

And Tristan & Lauren -- leaving me comments about what you are reading is fabulous! I love knowing what other people are reading!!

I'm not consistent when I post anything, but I'll try for Thursdays so that I can try for my weekly journal on the weekends.

I like all the comments this week about what everyone else is reading. I had forgotten about Capyboppy -- that's going on the "to-read" list for my Lauren.

Sorry about the wrong link. I'll just claim that my brain was fried by the unusual appearance of a strange globe in the sky (I think some call it the sun?)It hit near 90. The link I just posted *should* be correct.

Keep reading, everyone. I know Debra seems disappointed in herself this past week, but a chapter here and there does add up over the days, weeks, and months. I am sorry to be so late to report. I'll try to visit everyone's posts tonight or tomorrow. :)

We've been reading, just not linking. Too much cleaning to keep up with blogging. But doing some typing in the wee hours of the morning, will help stop my worrying...I'm so glad you keep on posting (and reading!)

You're doing great, Debra. Everything you are reading is amazing and I know your kids are learning so much. They are blessed.

Blessings to you,

Heather

BTW, I posted twice because we had two book-heavy posts this week. I hope that is all right.
