Reading Aloud Challenge. Or Failure.

I am having another week of "I committed to posting about this weekly, and I'm simply going to do it."

We are no longer caught up in The American Patriot's Almanac by William Bennett. I think we read a total of one day worth.

The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien.  We're in chapter 2.  Not going to finish before it is due, but we are making progress.  I may need to buy this one.

I am reading Albert Einstein by Kathleen Krull and Investigating Rocks by Will Hurd, as part of the Moving Beyond the Page units that I am doing with William and Thomas.  These units are actually meant for ages 10-12, so we'll be beefing it up a little bit for William, however (one day into it) I am impressed.

I have some other things planned, but nothing started.  And no photo.

How about you?  What are you reading out loud?  I am desperate for some inspiration, so feel free to link up your posts about reading aloud, or leave me a comment and tell me I can do it...

I'm reading "The family at One End Street" by Eva Garnett to my daughter. This is the first in a fictional series of books about a large, poor and happy family in England in, I guess, the 1930s. Parts are so funny that I haven't managed to carry on reading.

I don't see the linky...but I'm reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to my 6 year old, and Easter themed picture books to him and my 3 year old.

Debra, I just wanted to say that I have been needing the motivation to read out loud to the kids again, so please keep up your Read Aloud Challenge!

We are reading Fellowship of the Ring as well. We have a copy - somewhere - but it can't be located since our move. I borrowed a copy from the library and we managed to get through 2 chapters in a month. I went and bought a new one. :-) The older language makes it a bit harder to flow easily while reading a loud. I like the challenge though and I'm pretty sure it's the only way I'll ever read it. ;-)
