Reading Aloud Challenge, April 7

This one is going to be fairly short and sweet.  Another not so great week. But I was gone most of Friday and most of Saturday, and haven't been feeling so great most of this week.  That's why this is so short... because I want to get to bed, and I want this ready to post first thing.

Out of Many WatersWe finished Out of Many Waters.  This was so fabulous.  The discussions about accepting others who are different than we are, or about what real Christian behavior does look like.  Wow.

Madeleine Takes Command (Living History Library)We started reading Madeleine Takes Command by Ethel Brill but didn't get very far.  The greatest part of this title is that my kids had ancestors living vaguely around here at this time.  It makes the whole thing come far more alive for them.

Dragons: Legends & Lore of DinosaursWe've been reading Dragons: Legends & Lore of Dinosaurs.  Everyone is loving this one.  We should finish it up and be able to review it soon.  Maybe early next week for the review.  Gorgeous illustrations.

The Pirates of Pompeii (The Roman Mysteries)We started Pirates of Pompeii by Caroline Lawrence. Not far enough into it to really say much though.

I read to just Trina, a couple different picture books.

The Tarantula Scientist (Scientists in the Field Series)Mmm, we've also been reading The Tarantula Scientist. <shudder>  Actually, it is pretty interesting.  I'd prefer fewer photos, but the kids love it.

Attack at the Arena (AIO Imagination Station Books)William has been reading Attack at the Arena out loud to me.  Does that count?  I guess, I make the rules for what I want to accomplish, so why not?  I think we'll finish this book (#2 in a series) just about in time for book #1 to arrive (it's supposed to be here Monday!)

How about you?  What are your goals, and how have you been doing?  Why is this important to you?

It took me awhile before I was able to sit down and finish the post up. I love the pictures in your post today!

This is such a good idea. I love to see what other people are reading.

I like the pictures too. Makes me think I need to add some to my posts sometime. Hopefully I can get it posted on time next week. Off to read some of the other reading posts.

I recently got that Dragon book from Library & Ed Services, but haven't looked at it yet, I should pull it out & see what the children think of it.
