What's in a Name?

This reading challenge is going to be FUN!

I'll be updating this post throughout the year, but this is where I'm laying out the plans for the reading challenge.

For What's in a Name, the idea is to read books that have specific types of words in the title.  So, this year, I'll be reading the following (titles are tentative, I'll link 'em when I've read 'em):

  1. A book with a food in the title: There is No Freedom Without Bread! by Constantine Pleshakov (update:  got this from the library, and yep, this is it.)
  2. A book with a body of water in the title: A Thread Across the Ocean by John Steele Gordon
  3. A book with a title in the title: (would Sir Gawain and the Green Knight count?  "Sir" is a title, right?)
  4. A book with a plant in the title:  I'm hoping to find The Rose of York: Love & War by Sandra Worth
  5. A book with a place name in the title:  Pearl Buck in China by Hilary Spurling
  6. A book with a music term in the title: Kristallnacht: Prelude to Destruction by Martin Gilbert
The above list proves to me that I am really a history/historical fiction fanatic.  One would think I could come up with ONE tentative title that is just a regular book...

Welcome to the challenge -- and I love your book list. Yes, "sir" counts and I like your music title too. Good luck and have fun.

Oh, Yay! So Sir Gawain is going to count on, well, almost all the reading challenges I'm doing. LOL!

This looks like a great challenge. I am also challenging myself with my reading lists this year, but I am not so organized as to already have titles picked out...

Johanna -- okay, well, I'm a bit over-ambitious in the planning department. News flash, huh? LOL!

I didn't MEAN to plan out so many titles. It just kinda sorta happened...
