Family Movie Night - Tomorrow

So I committed to posting about this before now -- but it has been insanely busy and I really wanted to watch Change of Plans with my family.  It just didn't happen.  So I sat down to watch a preview myself... and pretty soon the kids were joining me.

What is it?  A new Family Movie, this airs on Fox tomorrow, Saturday, January 8, at 7 pm CST.  Change of Plans is the story of a happily married couple who love the freedom and the lifestyle they enjoy.  Just before they are to leave for a fabulous, exotic vacation, Sally gets the news that her best friend has died.  Putting of the vacation is only the first change of plans in store for them.

They find themselves acting as guardians to the best friend's four children... three of whom are adopted... who have been flown to the US from Uganda, where their parents served in the peace corps.  Sally can't cook, and insists she does not have a single parenting gene.  These four children are going to teach her otherwise.

The four children are all different nationalities.  The oldest, Jordan, was born in the US and is the only one Sally really knew at all (but it has been years).  The other three are adopted -- one from Central or South America (I didn't catch which), one from Uganda, one from China.

I'll confess, I was a little concerned about the whole 'learning to fit in, having come from various Third World countries' aspect, but the show handled that very well.  And international adoption is a topic near and dear to my heart (my cousin is in Columbia right now, in fact, getting her new son).

So this is a television program that I can most definitely recommend.

You can watch the trailer for yourself:

And definitely tune in tomorrow, if you have the ability to do so.  Or look for the DVD on sale at Wal-Mart.  Like them on Facebook.  Do your bit to show that family-friendly entertainment is something we want to see.

Have a wonderful Saturday!
